Hello everyone, I have started this watercolour demo’s site as a way of passing on tips and techniques to anyone who would like to become a watercolour artist. There is nothing more satisfying for me than knowing I have helped someone become interested in painting watercolour pictures.
There is no doubt in my mind that everyone and anyone is capable of painting, with just a few ideas and a little encouragement this becomes a reality.
Once this barrier of, ‘I don’t think I can do this’, can be overcome anyone, that might include you, can achieve this goal.
I shall be posting my methods of painting and these will include topics beginning with stretching your paper. Stretching your paper is important if you want to use wet-on-wet methods as this uses a lot of water.
After this the next post will be about how I deal with; brushes and paper, paints and pencils, starting to paint, perspective, linear and colour.
Once this has been covered I shall demonstrate how I paint most subjects.
I shall also cover aspects of composition, this is crucial and many paintings fail just because of poor composition. I will also be painting full pictures to include landscapes, house paintings and street scenes.
What I also intend to do is publish articles, including some from other artists, that I think will help you. I am also writing a couple of eBooks that I will be happy to share with you all.
The first eBook will actually be one written by another artist, it is to do with sketching with the humble pencil.
It covers working with pencils in a manner which I like, easy to understand and follow. This has now been published, you can get your copy by registering with me, once registered you will be able to download it to your computer, eBook reader or any other device that you use to read them.
The details are on my paintings site and this is the link.
Until then you all take care and begin to look at things with ‘eyes that see’, the wonders of nature.
You can contact me here at any time if you have any questions. This link takes you to my paintings site.
